Messing With Texas

Went to Austin for a conference. It was so hot I could hardly function. Texas is a strange magical place, like Alberta except with more people, more guns, more sun, more cows, more music, more, more more. It was like everything was slightly larger than what I was used to.

The Texas state legislature. Was quite a nice building with nice grounds. Virtually deserted as it was one million degrees outside with a cruel, vengeful sun.

Confederate army memorial on the grounds of the Texas legislature. Says something about reviving the spirit of 1776 with the civil war. Actual text of the 1776 declaration of independence said, "...all men are created equal..." Justifying slavery using that document is certainly a creative interpretation.

What government property would be complete without the ten commandments. Thomas Jefferson remains spinning in his grave.

Together at last...
