Pace Yourself Roanoke, It's a Long Summer

Roanoke is crazy busy. A couple of Saturday's ago was packed: Strawberry Festival, Virginia State Chili Cook-off Championship and a swap meet. I also saw The Walkmen play the Hollins University (all girls school) cafeteria with about 99 other female undergrads. It was by far the weirdest show I have ever been to. It was like one of them defiled one of those poor girls and the plea bargain involved playing a show there.

Waiting in line at the swap meet.

Up coming shows at the Roanoke Civic Centre. Note Gordon Lightfoot, he was staying at my hotel when he was in town.

My purchases at the swap meet, 50 cents each.

The crowd at the Strawberry Festival. It was a benefit for a local school.

Strawberry short cake, the whipped cream was real. It was delicious

Nancy and Two Meteors! Roanoke's favourite sons, this is the band I could not remember the name of before

A strange small car. I think someone built it at home, the dash board was plywood
